Thanks to Paul Mc Elvaney for facilitating a cycling workshop for our 4th, 5th and 6th class pupils. We are now cycling more efficiently and with increased confidence! With the help of Seatbelt Sheriff 1st, 2nd & 3rd class have been learning about the importance of buckling up! Hi Glo Silver has been encouraging the boys and girls to wear bright and reflective clothing when they are out walking or cycling.
On Saturday 22nd October, our 4th, 5th and 6th Class boys and their manager Mrs.Coll represented St. Dympna's in the Cumann na mBunscoil Division 4 Final. It was a very close game with St. Dympna's just missing out by a narrow margin. What a wonderful achievement to have made it so far. The boys played their hearts out and we are so proud of them! A huge thank you to all our wonderful supporters for coming out on the day. The Acorn Montessori have been learning the basic rules of road safety and took part in the National Road Safety Campaign for children aged 5 and under.
The Student Council are currently working as The Active School Flag Committee under the stewardship of Mrs. Finnegan.
The Active School Flag is awarded to schools that strive to achieve a physically educated and physically active school community. The process aims to get more schools, more active, more often. We will begin the process by self-evaluating our current provision across 3 areas: Physical Education, Physical Activity and Partnerships. We must also organise an Active School Week programme and commit to having it as part of our annual school calendar. When we can say ‘yes’ to all of the Active School Flag success criteria we will be awarded with the active flag! |
