We stepped back in time with a visit to John Treanor's Teachín Bán. We had a wonderful time. We were blown away by the kind welcome and hospitality we received. We would highly recommend a ceilí to John if you are passing. Go raibh míle maith agat!

We have been learning about the 1916 Rising and we completed projects in groups about the leaders and some of the main events. Here are some photos of the presentations. Our Parents Association ran a Coffee Morning in December. The money raised on the day, along with Tylotto funding allowed us to install a new kitchen in the school. Thank you so much to everyone who contributed. This will be of huge benefit to the pupils in our school for years to come. Here you can see the children using the new facilities on pancake Tuesday! Delicious! Our Student Council's latest idea was to set up a draughts club. It has proven very popular over the past few weeks. Well done! A huge congratulations to our basketball team who won the Monaghan Mini Basketball tournament last Monday. We are delighted to have the trophy in our cabinet for this year! We won four out of our five matches. We narrowly lost out to Glaslough NS in our first match and went on to beat them by one point in the final. All the hard work in training paid off and we are so proud of you! Scoil Naomh Damhnait Abú! Well done to the pupils who were chosen to represent the school in the Four Seasons Hotel last Friday. |
