5th and 6th class brought items to school which were of special importance to them. Thanks to everyone who brought items in for the children. We really appreciate it! Not only do we have wonderful students at present, we also have past pupils who have reached amazing heights. Recently we were delighted to hear of the achievements of Caitriona Balfe, Frances Treanor and Ronan Treanor, past pupils of St. Dympna's NS. Comhghairdeas! Who knows what the future has in store for our current pupils, it seems the sky's the limit!

He kindly brought information boards and set them up in our gym and gave us a talk in the classroom before taking us on a walking tour. We went to the old graveyard and did charcoal rubbings to find the oldest grave. Thanks Paddy! Congratulations to Tarah Sherlock who represented the school in the Monaghan stage of the Eason Spelling Bee this week. Well done!
Yesterday morning Mrs Finnegan called the Green Schools Committee in for a meeting. I was hoping it was about the Green Schools Flag and it was! Niamh and I were so excited. Mrs Finnegan gave Caoimhe and Ben a letter. They opened it and read out that we were awarded our flag. I was so happy. Next we went to tell our class. They were happy too. Miss Connolly let us off homework that night. We came in the next day and we got sweets. I was really happy because we had worked so hard for the flag and I think we earned it. I can’t wait until the celebration. On the day of the celebration we will raise the flag. By Áine Eanetta Committee Member Second Class We hope you all had a lovely break, looking forward to seeing you all Monday morning at 9:20am! For the past eight weeks the children in the senior class have received French lessons from Mademoiselle Daly. It has been a great success and we are sorry it has come to an end. The funding for these lessons came from our Christmas Coffee morning; the success of which was thanks to our hard working Parents Association and the wonderful support we receive from our local community. Merci beaucoup! 5th and 6th class have been learning about the solar system. To present their findings to the rest of the class they created some wonderful powerpoints. Great work! |
