The children have been having great fun for the past few weeks doing GAA training with Monaghan county star Rory Beggan! Well done to the senior girls who attended a football tournament in Cloghan recently. They played really well and had a great day.
As part of our Green School's Activities, Miss Traynor's class visited our local water treatment plant. They learned all about the water cycle and how the water we drink is purified before it reaches our homes. Thank you so much to Claire Sherlock who organised this fantastic outing for us. This year we are working towards our Green Flag for Water Conservation. For this year's action day, everyone wore blue. We took part in lots of water related experiments and activities. It was great fun. A huge thank you to Mrs Finnegan for all her hard work and preparation. We were delighted to welcome some of Killylough FC to St Dympna's and wish them well on their way to an Ulster Final. Mrs Coll's class went to the Iontas Theatre in Castleblayney to view the play 'Me Mollser'. This was an adaptation of the Plough in the Stars, showing life in 1916 through the eyes of a child. It was both enjoyable and informative Congratulations to Grace O' Malley in 5th class who had her review of the new book 'Arrivals' by Brian Gallagher published on seomra ranga. You can read the review at the link below:
http://www.seomraranga.com/2016/05/book-review-arrivals/ Mrs Slowey's class were working on some very interesting water experiments as part of our next Green Flag activities. |
