Sergeant David Mc Carney visited our school recently. He told us how to care for the national flag. He and Grace O' Malley read the Proclamation. He presented the flag to Katie Rose and the Proclamation as Gaeilge and as Bearla to Tiffany and Sophie. The children from 5th and 6th classes played music and sang songs. Through a drama piece they taught us about those involved in, and affected by the Easter Rising. We will have another special day on the 15th of March next year. We will come together as a school community to raise the flag in remembrance of the events of 1916.
